Meet the Ponytail Palm, a fun easy to care for plant! It's actually a succulent and holds water in its bulbous trunk, making watering a breeze. In the summer you can water it once the top 2-3" of soil have completely dried out. Water only occasionly in Winter. Bring it to the sink in its growers pot and let the water soak the soil completely, allowing the excess water to drain out. Give your pony the sun, it loves bright and indirect light, think a west facing window.

It might be me?

I am not having any luck with this plant at all! Within a few days of receiving it, I had brown tips and it looked a bit droopy. Perhaps I over compensated but over watering? I just love the look but mine looks a little sad and unhealthy. And it now seems to have attracted some pesky little bugs. Think I need to stick to the Easy section of this site! :-)
